Danny Keith Maglinger Sr, 69, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born April 5, 1949 in Daviess County to the late Betty Jane Blanford Maglinger and Fred Maglinger, Danny graduated from OHS ('67) and served in the United States Air Force before attending UK and receiving his degree in Accounting. After achieving his CPA, he worked for Coopers & Lybrand in N. Carolina then, returning to Owensboro, he was employed at Texas Gas, U.S. Home Mortgage and Vince Hayden. Danny served the community as president of the PTA at Burns Middle School, gave back to others through Narcotics Anonymous, represented Santa for many years, and was a regular voice at City Commission meetings. He was an avid music aficionado and enjoyed collecting Egyptian items.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Mary Lynn Tromly Maglinger; son, Danny "Keith" Maglinger Jr. and wife Charlotte of Charlotte, N. Carolina; daughter, Laura Jane Kessner and husband Darren of Los Angeles , California; grandchildren, Emma and Isabelle "Izzi" Kessner and Alice Maglinger; father, Fred Maglinger of Owensboro; sisters, Peggy Duncan (Jim) of Muncie, Indiana and Amy Richard (Nick) of Owensboro; sisters-in-law, Julie Wheatley, Susan Jones (Randall), and Karen Tromly; brother-in-law, Gene Fleischman; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Danny Maglinger will be 10:00 am Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 and Saturday from 9:00 am until time of service.. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
