Jean Bartley Dubber, 93, of Owensboro, passed away January 31, 2024. She was born in Daviess County on May 25, 1930, to the late Denvral Bartley and Daisy Moore Bartley Mobley. Jean was a graduate of Tech High School in 1949 and was a cosmetologist before becoming one of the first sworn in Policewomen in Owensboro. She loved spending time at her home at Rough River, which she and her husband built together and loved spending time with family. Jean was a faithful member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church and the oldest living member. While a member, she was a part of the Faithful Workers Sunday School group. Jean was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack S. Dubber; siblings, Dennis Earl Bartley, Donald Mobley, Faye Grooms, Dewayne Mobley, Jimmy Ray, Francis Mouton, and Leona Carter.
She is survived by her children, Sheila Shively, Carmel (Terry) Carlisle, Howard Dubber, and Dennis Bartley; siblings, Sam Mobley and Martin Mobley; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
