Basil Ray Jackson, 93, of Owensboro, passed away November 11, 2023, at home.  He was born October 28, 1930, to the late Ollie Lee and Stella McDaniel Jackson.  Basil served in the United States Air Force where he was taught the skills to become an electrician.  Through the years, he worked at Eastern Airlines, Alcoa, and Retired from the Hawesville paper mill while it was under the direction of Wescor.  Basil enjoyed country and gospel music, going on cruises and hunting.  He was also a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rise and Freemason’s for over fifty years.  Basil was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christy Jackson and siblings, Beulah Mae, Maxine, Betty, Lee Edward, James Ollie, and Claudette.

He is survived by four children, Jacky (Sharon) Jackson, Debbie Curry all of Owensboro, Sandy Millay of Philpot, and Robin (Don) Cole of Owensboro; grandchildren, Josh Evans, Brandy Crowe, Annie Lockhart, Adam Millay, Whitney McLimore, Megan Fulkerson and Kristie Westerfield; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Expression of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Daniel Pitino Shelter.
