Betsy Griffith

Betsy Davis Griffith passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018. She was born November 1, 1934 in Morganfield, Kentucky, to the late James McMinnis and Mary Castleberry Davis. She was a graduate of the Owensboro High School Class of 1952.

Mrs. Griffith was an active member of First Baptist Church and was a member of the Martha Grace Sunday School Class. Throughout her life she served in many volunteer capacities within the church as well as in the schools where her children attended. As a devoted wife, mother and friend, she enjoyed serving and encouraging others.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Howard Dan Griffith, Jr., and her sister Martha Davis Stroud. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Temple, her son and daughter-in-law Dan and Beverly Griffith, granddaughters Elizabeth (Betsy) Griffith and Samantha Crist (Brian) and great-grandsons, Layne and Ethan Crist.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Owensboro. A private service of committal will be in Rosehill Mausoleum.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church, 230 J R Miller Boulevard, Owensboro, Kentucky or to a charity of choice.
