Bobby Gene Maglinger

December 13, 1944 — October 14, 2023

Bobby G. Maglinger, 88, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. He was born December 14, 1934 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Martine (Freels) and Raymond G. Maglinger.

Bobby graduated from Daviess County High School in 1953 and served as a medic in the United States Army from 1958-1959. He was a plant manager for Westech Building Products, retiring early to be a fulltime caregiver to his wife Mary. Bobby was a member of Metro Christian Center for 63 years and served as a Deacon for 25 years. He also supported Mary as she volunteered in the children’s ministry. Bobby was a devout believer and shared his faith in a multitude of ways with so many people. Over the past 14 years, he battled cancer and often shared his enduring faith with his doctors, giving God the glory as he beat cancer three times. Bobby enjoyed bowling with the senior league at River City Recreation and was a passionate UK Wildcats fan. He was a committed, loving husband and caregiver to his wife during her 15 year battle with Alzheimers Disease and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Although his family is grieving their loss, they rejoice that he is reunited with his sweetheart, free of pain and in his glorified body at the feet of Jesus.

He is survived by his daughter, Bobbi (Rich) Hatfield; sons, Robin Maglinger and Eric Maglinger (Jackie Newton); grandchildren, Jennifer (J.T.) Watkins and Chris (Audrey) Hatfield; great grandchildren, Ava, Jake and Isabell Watkins and Zoe Hatfield; brother, John Maglinger; sisters, Mary Maglinger and Betty Oost; and many nieces and nephews.
