Brenda Sue Leslie

Brenda Sue Leslie, 76, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. The Daviess County native was born August 5, 1947, as one of eleven children to the late Finis and Evelyn Sosh English. Brenda was employed at Cintas before leaving to join the team at Unifirst. She became a department manager who was respected and well-liked by all her co-workers. Brenda enjoyed her annual trips to Florida as a Mother’s Day gift from her family. She loved her grandkids and was a lifelong fan of UK basketball until her youngest grandson enrolled in U of L. Brenda was spunky, bubbly, candid, with a sharp sense of humor and a great work ethic. She was best described as a small package of dynamite. 

 In addition to her parents, Brenda also was preceded in death by six of her siblings, Harold English, Shelby Lashbrook, Wanda Butler, Kenneth English, Bonnie Smith, and Frieda Lanktree. 

 Those left to cherish her memory include her two children, Lisa Jones and Frank Leslie (Melinda) both of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Austin Jones (Rachelle), Tyler Leslie, and Kash Leslie; three great grandchildren, Elliot, Rowyn, and Vanna Jones; four siblings, Doris Brown, Debbie Fulkerson (Sammy), Judy Brackett Strange, and Donald English, numerous nieces and nephews.   

 The funeral will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
