Daniel Harding

June 6, 1930 — July 5, 2018

Daniel Hughes Harding III, 88, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was a beautiful soul, a kind and gentle man who always put others before himself. Mr. Harding was born June 6, 1930 in Chicago to the late Daniel H. Harding Jr. and Marie Harding. He worked as a Reading Specialist at the Breckenridge Job Corps Center before accepting employment teaching High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. Upon his retirement, Mr. Harding and his wife moved back to Owensboro to be near family and became members of St. Stephen Cathedral. He was a devoted UK fan and always looked forward to the next season.

Mr. Harding was also preceded in death by a stepson, Stan Yeiser in 2002.

Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life, his wife Betty; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Mattingly of Owensboro and Pamela Yeiser of Stockbridge, Georgia; three step grandsons- Barry Yeiser from Goodlettsville, TN, Jesse Orkins from McDonough, GA and Jamie Alum from Atlanta, Ga. and one step granddaughter- Jessica Nuelle from Stockbridge, GA, and five great grandchildren- Maxton Yeiser, Bowen Yeiser, Eli Alum, Levi Alum and Jordan Orkins. Also, a very special brother in law and sister in law- Ellis and Shirley Prather of Maceo. Two dear friends Mary Ann O'Bryan and Rose Ann Payne.

Mr. Harding has requested there be no visitation. A graveside service conducted by Father Mike Clark will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Rosehill Cemetery

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Saint Stephens Catholic Church
