Dorothy Gray

Dorothy Shaver Gray, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born August 17, 1924, in McLean Co. to the late Odis and Clara Thomas Shaver. Dorothy was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and had been a devoted member of Hall Street Baptist Church for over 70 years where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir, and had worked with the Women's Missionary Union. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her husband, James C. "Buck" Gray on June 9, 1994, brothers, Robert C. Shaver and wife Mary and Harold Shaver and wife Judy, a sister, Elizabeth Shaver, and a brother-in-law, Gene Gray.

Surviving are her sons, Danny Gray and wife Jill of Owensboro, Dale Gray and wife Bunnye of Rincon, GA, grandchildren, Jordan Gray, Ellen Mayes and husband Jake of Owensboro, and P. D. Gray and wife Paula of Utica, great grandchildren, Austin Gray of Owensboro and Connor Gray of Utica, a sister-in-law, Joyce Gray of Utica, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be Noon Monday, January 15, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Greg Faulls officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
