Everett 'Gene' Sapp

Everett E. "Gene" Sapp, 89, of Owensboro passed away Monday, June 24, 2019, at Wellington Parc. Born in Daviess County on Dec. 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Harry and Leta Carter Sapp and worked as the manager of the Woods Drug Store for many years. After the drug store closed, he was a self-proclaimed entrepreneur, selling cars, motorcycles, and other things. Mr. Sapp was an Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dale Sapp in 2017; brothers Marvin Sapp, Doug Sapp and George Sapp; and a sister, Leva Jane Cheshire.

Surviving is his grandchildren, Shane Alholm and Violet Alholm; several nieces and nephews, including, his longtime caregiver, Terry (Doris) Sapp of Owensboro; and several cousins.

There will be no visitation or service. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Care is entrusted to Cardinal Cremation Society.
