Francis Forsythe Jr., 94, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born March 14, 1929, in Marysville, OH to the late Francis Forsythe Sr. and Elsie Rice Forsythe. Francis served in the National Guard, worked for General Electric for 20+ years, and retired from Ken-Tron after 25+ years of service as a tool and die maker. He enjoyed working on the farm, fishing, bluegrass music, and playing shuffleboard, where he was the champion in his retirement community in Florida.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Eva Merle Taylor Forsythe; and 3 sisters, Janet, Virginia, and Dot.
Francis is survived by his daughter, Deborah Board; a son, Herbert Eugene Forsythe (Sandy); 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Overfield.
The funeral service for Mr. Forsythe will be held at noon Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
