Louis Woods

Louis Bushrod Woods, 86, of Owensboro passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Owensboro on March 5, 1933 to the late Louis and Melissa F. Berry Bushrod Woods. Louis was retired from Alcoa where he worked as an Ingot attendant for 40 years. Louis was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses faith. He enjoyed sharing God’s word, skating, sports, traveling, and reading maps.

Along with his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Gaylee Purcell Woods on March 12, 2015, his daughter, Yvonne Woods, his sisters, Amanda Bushrod, Ona Mae Gray; and his granddaughter, Jasmine Johnson.

Louis is survived by his children, Glenn (Jeanine) Woods, Gazetta Neyra, his grandchildren, Destiny Woods, Geri (Andrae) Davis, Brianne (Michael) Crockett, Jamin (Randy) Johnson, Gazelle (Curtis) Leon, Telem Johnson, Pelaiah (Michael) Barner, Aija, Elioenai, Lastira Johnson; bonus grandchildren, Bryson (Caitlin) Morrow, Kennedy Rowan, Jai Rowan; his great-grandchilren, Zalaya, Zaria, Lemaj, Lyric, Le-Aira, Nyla Cate, DeVaughn Johnson and numerous additional great-grandchildren; and his niece, Melissa Gray.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.
