Rose Marie Wayne Fulkerson King, 91, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away September 24, 2023, at The Village at Hamilton Pointe in Newburgh, Indiana. She was born April 4, 1932, in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Charles Robert and Mary Ada Stallings Wayne. She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church.
Rose was resourceful, caring, and selfless. She was an excellent seamstress, loved her grandchildren, and was a nurturing homemaker. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed history, geography, genealogy, and researching and charting the Bible.
Along with her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her daughters, Leda Francis King and Lana Rose Midkiff; her brothers, Charles Stewart Wayne and James Augustine Wayne; her sisters, Martha Jean Gamboa and Mary Angela O’Bryan; and her in-laws, Pat Weikel, Ruby Wayne, James “Jim” Feldpausch, Jack Beam, Philip Leach, and JT O’Bryan.
Rose is survived by her husband, Jack King; children, Linda Carol Leach, Lora K. (Ray) Sanders, Larry Wayne (Cathy) King, Leslie Michael (Terry) King, Lisa Marie (Pat) Bosley, and Lydia Beth (Jim) Johnson; son-in-law, David Midkiff; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Francis Feldpausch, Robert Louis (Judy) Wayne, Joseph A. (Beverly) Wayne, Linda Ruth Beam, and James Henry Wayne.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. A Catholic Memorial Mass will be held for Rose at a later date.
