Sandra Faye Howard

Sandra Faye Howard, 70, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023, at her home under the care of Hospice of W. Kentucky and in the presence of her loved ones. The Daviess County native was born July 23, 1953, to the late James Arnold Mayfield and Maxine Huff Mayfield. Her family soon moved to East Chicago where Sandra grew up. After her father passed away, the family returned to Owensboro to be closer to relatives. Sandra loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her husband, daughters, friends, and her many pets and in her spare time she loved to shop. Sandra worked in surgical instrument sterilization at Owensboro Mercy Hospital. She had the sweetest smile, the biggest heart, and the kindest disposition. She was the most beautiful wife, mother, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her siblings, Larry Mayfield, Terry Mayfield, Janice Feltman, and Darlene Mayfield.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 46 years, Louis Owen Howard; daughters, Sabrina and Jessica Howard, all of Owensboro; sisters, Glenda Scott and Kathy Burns; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to express special appreciation to the compassionate care of Hospice of W. Kentucky.    

The funeral service will be noon Friday, September 29 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Rosehill Chapel of Peace.
